Everything is simply in the right place, and there is just so much going on in the glass, in all direction. This is another dazzling effort from Vietti. Well-structured and refined, with a long, long finish, leaving traces of vanilla and fresh lemon. Wine Spectator The 2004 Acininobili is a berry by berry selection of botrytised Vespaiola that is aged in new French oak. This layered, opulent sweet wine reveals tons of sweet, candied fruit, flowers, spices and toasted oak. It possesses gorgeous inner perfume and notable length on the palate, with notes of sweetness from the oak that linger on the long finish. This is a very pretty example of modern-style Brunello. The intensity of the fruit builds towards the enveloping, round finish. Despite its size, the wine is already pretty open. The balance here is utterly exceptional, and the wine's sheer plumpness makes for a highly rewarding glass of Brunello. Succulent dark cherries, spices, underbrush, minerals and new leather come to life as the wine sits in the glass, yet this remains a backward, structured Brunello in need of serious bottle age. The Pianrosso is a terrific effort from proprietor Paolo Bianchini. Ciacci's Pianrosso is an old-vines selection that spent 36 months in Slavonian oak. Das monumentale Gewächs geizt nicht mit intensiven Wildbrombeer-, Leder- und Tabaknoten, die auf einen kraftvollen, aber klar definierten, fabelhaft ausgewogenen und lebendig-vielschichtigen Geschmack mit beachtlichem Tannin einstimmen. Endlich wieder eine Flasche, die man getrost in den Keller zu seinen besten Etiketten legen und dort vergessen kann - sie wird der Gruft in Topform entsteigen, ganz gleich, wie lange sie dort lag.
